DMCA / Copyright Policy

Effective 2026-07-21

Init1Security LLC ("we", "us") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. This policy explains how to report copyrighted material appearing on our Service without authorization, and how we treat material of ours that appears elsewhere without authorization.

1. Content on Our Service

If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on our Service without your authorization, please send a written notice to our designated agent (below) that includes all of the following, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material on the Service that you believe is infringing, with URLs or other information sufficient to locate it.
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

We will remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material upon receipt of a compliant notice, and may terminate the account of a user who repeatedly infringes.

2. Our Content Appearing Elsewhere

All Init1Security course content — lesson text, videos, downloadable scripts, lab configurations — is our copyrighted work. Every lesson viewed on our Service is watermarked with the recipient's account identifier so that the source of any leak can be established.

If you discover Init1Security course material posted on another site, file-sharing service, code repository, forum, or torrent, please let us know at copyright@init1security.com with the URL and any relevant details. We appreciate tips and treat them confidentially.

3. Designated Agent for DMCA Notices

Copyright Agent
Init1Security LLC
[street address — REPLACE with the registered agent / mailing address on file with the CA Secretary of State]
[city, state, zip]
Email: copyright@init1security.com
Phone: [phone number]

Note: to claim the DMCA safe harbor for user-generated content, this agent must also be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office (dmca.copyright.gov) — a one-time filing (~$6). See internal notes for status.

4. Counter-Notice

If you believe material we removed was misidentified as infringing, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent containing the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Filing a false counter-notice, like filing a false takedown notice, carries penalties under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

5. Repeat Infringers

We terminate accounts of users found to be repeat infringers of copyright, whether the copyright at issue belongs to us or to a third party.
